First, try to ask the question properly with specifics. It could easily be understood the way I understood it. U ask a dumb question and u get a dumb answer . Also, there was never any sort of communication between ssnd and myself. That itself shows who's dumb.
Looks like all the dumb ppl r getting lots of green dots. Amazing forum...IV ki jai.
Oh, you couldnt grasp the obvious and telling me that my question had to be more specific and on top of that you agree that your answer was dumb, lol. No wonder you are dumb.
BTW ssnd and I are not rude in calling you dumb. Its ok to call a spade a spade.
The bagel is tasting soooo good this morning, yummy

So I had another set of soft LUDs on my approved 140, 485, approved EAD and approved AP today. This was the 4th LUD on my 485 and the 3rd LUD on the rest of the applications in the past week, and I was losing my mind worrying about receiving a denial or an RFE just before my trip abroad, leaving me with not enough time to respond to the RFE.
So I decided to call Customer Service, and after trying a million options on the voice prompt I finally managed to reach the Nebraska Service Center.
Upon inquiring about the LUDs with no status change, I was told that it was triggered due to the attorney name change and address change. My address that they had on file was also an old one, from 2 years ago. I have since moved, and done the online AR15 thing and received my EAD at the new address, so I'm not sure why/how the system showed the old address. But anyway, the lady on the phone was kind enough to change it to the new address. I didn't bother asking her if they had received the AC21 letter, I wasn't going to take the risk of having to argue with someone on the phone that switching employers is allowed under the AC21 law, etc. I was just happy to find out that the G28N had processed successfully and that I didn't have to expect a denial or RFE at least in the near future.
Apologies for the long post, but I thought that my tale might help someone that is getting anxious over a similar situation.
Thanks,

If the current law passes , god forbid it wont. It is indeed scary to many : Becoz its primarily becoz of all backlog processing centre Labors, H1 sixth year extensions etc. I dont know how the heck designed this draft and i am sure all those senators wouldnt havebeen aware of all these H1B , GC Employment based numbers some staffer would have done this .

Guys,
I was very busy till today.
I'll call all the #s tomorrow and let them know how important is the CIR for legal immigration, and how I am not able to buy a house, or start a company, as I have no greencard inspite of waiting for 8-10 years. Not to forget I am from India and it is severely backlogged. Also we have jobs, so we're not taking away anything.
I have to be very brief. So please let me know if I'm missing any impo point.
Just follow what pappu has said on the first page. We need to stay on message.

Seriously it is impossible to change anything with the back-dated 100k applications. The only thing that could be done is help the future immigrants in a much better fashion. The only solution I see is, apply this rule after 1/1/2006. By applying this rule to back-dated applications will only create more chaos. Why would anybody would want to change the line again, because it is a different situation now. I would'nt. If that is the case, then USCIS should withdraw all their approved out-of-line GCs during 2004, atleast the retrogression will not be this bad. The best idea would be to wait and see if the current bill makes it out to the president with all the amendments included. That should relieve some or most of the retrogression.

Lot of weird things. Still waiting for 485 approval even after sending interfiling request in mid-November. My attorney has sent an email reminder again 2 weeks back. Even for the I-140 which was approved in November 1st week, online status still says "Initial Review".
Opened a Service Request early this week and received a reply with the status as follows.
Thank you for contacting us about this case. According to our systems this petition was approved and it has been sent to production. Your case will be processed in order based on the approval date. If you do not receive the document within 30 days feel free to contact us again.
Online/Phone status is still processing .... I have to just wait and see I guess.

People,
I am preparing an article for NY times explaining our sufferings! Please contribute your thoughts.
1. What is America losing because of our prolonged wait for Green Cards?
2. How people who have green cards are contributing to the country as a whole ?
3. What if the whole green card process takes less than 3 years ?
Few obvious things are we would have bought a house, gone up in our carrier ladder, spend more and contribute to the economy, our spouse could have started working etc....
I am looking for thoughts and experience other than the above things.
USA is made by illegal immigrants (over 13 millions) and bonded labors (H1B - GC).
Losses suffered by illegal immigrants and H1B-GC people fuels US economy (or at least contributes to that). My contributions so far might have been above half a millions. Indirect beneficiaris are top most companies.
You may get some valuable inputs from http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=19766 although I did not fully endorse the thread:
Good observation.
It will be breaking more than making - it will be like this news: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Is_Hindu_marriage_law_breaking_homes/articleshow/3154827.cms
America is not loosing by delaying any process of streamlining any illegal immigrants or H1B-GC process.

This is good information to know. If this is the case, then at least once in a year they have to make all the categories current. May be for September every year so that they do not waste any VISA numbers.
Again that depends on the demand vs supply. To have every one approved in EB3 (esp back logged countries), EB1 (All countries), EB2 (All countries) has to be current. Then the extra visas flow down to EB3 (ROW) and to all back logged countries (India, China, etc).
I am still wondering how DOL made all countries current in July bulletin. I think it is mainly due to many Labor Applications in BEC is either replaced by PERM or might not make all the way up to I-485. Many of us 2001 / 2002 filers discussed this theory a lot and did came to the conclusion that such a back log is artificially created as DOL, DOE and USCIS, who does not know exactly how many are there in approvable condition.
That is proved beyond doubt by the July bulletin :)
Hey guys make hey while the sun shines. I wish all of you will get GC much faster than us.
Thanks

He is trying to spin a news and get a answer of his comfort. Guyz never stop :)
The way DOS/USCIS behaved last couple weeks anything is possilbe - now its very easy to spin news. If someone comes here and says USCIS will not accept any applications for next two years - many of us might think "logically" and suspect the news - but last week proved that logic and USCIS/DOS dont go together.
Anything is possible with is freaking idiotic dumbass orgnanization. Now I can feel a bit better - at least for next 30 mts. :)

During the failed CIR bill people here were praising Sen. Sessions for supporting legal immigration and I almost shed tears because deep in my heart I know how they hate immigrants both legal and illegal. The only way we can expect relief is a good comprehensive immigration bill but not from ammendments on other bills like the now defense bill.

Many H1s like me have their non-working spouses on H4 visa who are not given SSNs. Do we not pay taxes ? Do we not pay Social security ? We do, and therefore we should also be eligible for the Stimulus package. Indeed my son is autistic and disabled but we are not eligible for any kind of aid but we pay tons of taxes and social security. It is highly non-justified think. I know people will argue a lot if it is compared to slavery. But it is a "modern form of slavery". Yes, we are in this country with our own will but that is what they are making use of.

From last 2 years I have not seen activity other than Aman, Himanshu & Puneet.
What are other boys doing in the team ? We need election guys. This is not Iran :-)
Aman Kapoor is the co-founder of Immigration Voice and is our liaison with other groups and agencies. Mr. Kapoor has been working in US for the last eight years. The prolonged employment-based immigration process has continued to hurt Mr. Kapoors career growth prospects. Mr. Kapoor possesses strong technical skills and has contributed in many high profile projects with large clients across the country. He has a Bachelors degree in Engineering and is presently pursuing his MBA. His permanent residency application is being processed and the I-485 approval has been pending for more than 28 months. Mr. Kapoor and his family are now on third year EAD and continue to await approval of their Green Card application. Mr. Kapoors handle is WaldenPond and his email is aman@immigrationvoice.org
Himanshu is an advertising and design professional with Masters from a US university and undergraduate from a top Institute in India. He has an illustrious career working with leading companies has won numerous awards. His Green card application was stuck at the Backlog Elimination Center and after lot of wait, changed his employer, started his process all over again with a new PD. He is responsible for media, publicity and funding efforts of Immigration Voice. His ID on Immigration Voice is 'pappu' and can be reached at himanshu@immigrationvoice.org
Nagaraj is a Systems Analyst working in the health care industry for the past 5 years on a H-1 Visa. His tag on IV is indio0617. He has degrees in Physics and Computer Information systems from the University of Madras and University of Houston ,respectively. His Green card application is stuck in the Backlog Center with a pending labor certificate since February 2004. He can be contacted at nagaraj@immigrationvoice.org
Naren has a Masters in Engineering from a US university and works as a Project Manager for a FORTUNE Top 10 Employer Company. Naren has had extensive global experience in business continuation, service delivery, as well as account management with leading Global corporations. Like several others, he is affected by retrogression. Naren is responsible for the Free Immigration Advice Program at IV (Au Gratis) and liaises with immigration attorneys as part of this role. His handle is sertasheep and he can be reached at sertasheep@immigrationvoice.org
Pratik has an MBA degree from a US university and MSc degree from India . He is currently working as a Marketing Consultant. He has worked with several companies in , Europe and US. His I-140 is in process and he will follow others in the queue to file I-485. The unavailability of Employment Based Visa's restricts him from making any kind of long term commitments. He can be contacted at pratik@immigrationvoice.org
Puneet is an Endocrinologist practicing in a major urban health care system located in an underserved area. He graduated from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and has trained at NYU and the Mayo Clinic. He leads the Minnesota chapter of IV and is currently helping build the IV-Physicians chapter. He recently filed a National Interest Waiver, after USCIS finally accepted the eligibility of specialist physicians for the program. The delayed priority date however, means a long wait for a green card. He lives in the twin cities with his wife (who is pursuing a PhD) and their 3 year old daughter. His IV handle is 'Paskal'.
Rajatish Mukherjee is a Software Developer in one of the world's largest software companies. He came to US in the year 1999. In Mar 2005, his employer started his green card application; his labor certification is still pending at the Dallas Labor Backlog Center . He holds a Bachelors degree in Computer Science & Engineering from and a Masters in Computer Science from US. He is currently looking at another 4-6 years of waiting before he can file his I-485 and probably another 2 years after that to get the green card. In the meantime he cannot make any important decisions like investment commitments. Rajatish's id on Immigration Voice is mrajatish and he can be reached at raj@immigrationvoice.org
Xiheng is a software engineer helping develop trading platforms in the financial industry. He didn't want to be stuck in a position where he didn't see much career growth, especially hindered by a BEC'ed labor certification, and therefore, he joined a new company that sponsored his PERM application in the EB3 category. After witnessing the great efforts of Immigration Voice in May/June 2006, he decided on two things: 1) petition his employer to refile his PERM in EB2/China category, and 2) help Immigration Voicce out as he can. He hopes to help this organization with the paid membership drive initiative. His handle is xu1.
