Earlier I got a PM from immigration (name on the handle, not USCIS). He has contributed $100 for this round. That takes us to the final 6 shots. Remember these shots can be taken by anyone who believes that IV is doing a great job in order to make necessary changes. If you don't believe so, please don't keep that doubt lingering in your mind, speak up and be heard, if you are uncomfortable posting your doubts on any one of the threads, please use PM. Sorry to say this but i do not think EB3 India or any other Catagory will move much in this coming April 2009 Bulletin, Reason for this is if there was any possible movement then this would have atleast moved by 1 month in the past 4 months.
EB3 dates has not moved any further in the past few months and i don't think this will move any better before we see Bulletin for Sep 2009 as thats thier fisical year.
I hope you guys are right as you can see mine is dec 2001 EB3 India but have stoped dreaming.
Sorry if i have been any bitter to any of the guys here on the net

Iam not jumping on the bandwagon but my wife and I are contemplating about opening a (indian) restaurant and I would like to know if we can open one on H1b/EAD status? I know I could consult an attorney but we are not gonna open it right away so wanted to get some insight from experts on this.
If we cant open on our own due to technicalities can we open it in someones name who has a GC or citizenship (my sister and her family recently got citizenship) and work in that resturant as employees, atleast my wife if not me.?

I have some black dots in my Control Panel? What is the meaning of a black dot?
And how does one give black dot to some one? When I try to add reputation to a post, I can only see I approve or I disapprove options. I would imagine I approve=green and I disapprove=red. Where does a black dot fit into this scheme?

There seems to be 2 different opions about the process after CIS has received hundreds of thousands of applications until Aug 17th.
1. Once received, CIS cannot sort out the applications according to PD, so only RD is important.
2. PD is still an important factor, so if CIS is stuck with tons of applications on their hand, they will prioritize them by PD, which means if you have PD Dec 2004 and RD Jul 25 2007, you will be approved earlier than someone with PD Mar 2005 and RD Jul 2 2007.
Greg Siskind, an immigration lawyer known to most folks here for his blog, says in his new FAQs that CIS should work on by PD.

Can you please take some time to send web faxes(faxid- 20) to all the state senetors using the link on the home page , if you have not already done so. and also call them if time permits.
Coming to ur note , I guess , people who apply from F1 to I-485 you are referring are not the primary green card applicants. They are dependents on primary applicatns. If not, can you tell me what they are studying and how they can apply green card from F1? I am not aware of this route.
Numerous students on F1 visa applied 485 and got their GC these years.

People who have been waiting for I-140 approvals from TSC & NSC and those filed during Jun-Aug 07, please join this campaign to make it effective. Unless people who are suffering, actively participate in this campaign, we will not be able to achieve anything. Its still not too late...get those letters (modify to your personal situation) and get those DHS Form 7001 completed and mail them out soon. We need to act now, instead of just expressing our frustration on the forums...fight for yourself, no one will do it for you. If not, USCIS with the idiotic rules, will our petitions still pending even one year from today...for some or other reason.
My sincere thanks to members who have already mailed the documents. Please leave a comment on this thread, so that we have an idea about how many people actually took the time to send it out.

In my opinion, the most likely reason why EB2 India dates have been advanced to June 2006 is to help consular posts. CP filers can get their interviews now.

Sorry for being ignorant. How can we determine LUD (last update date) and what is meant my soft LUD ?
You can check status of your case on line:

It will show you "Last Updated Date". Soft LUD means status of case is not changed but they updated LUD, virtually means they touched your file.

I got my CA DL after moving from Missouri 4 years ago. they only ask for my out of state DL and SSN card. luckily my SSN card doesnt contain the "valid for work ..." stuff, only my name and ss number. I renewed my DL this year and got 5 years renewal by just showing only my DL to DMV...
Howz DL procedure in CA for 485 guys? I do not have H1B any my I-94 expired long time back. I have out of state licensce that expires in 2011 only. If I want to take CA DL, will it be a easy process? For how many years they give DL for 485 guys?

My attorney is Stupid . She never gives any information and says it is the property of employer( Even LIN numbers)
I don't know when they can approve my labour.

We all are going through hard time, but we do not need to display our hard feelings for someone through the forum! If you are upset at someone or if you have complains, email the Admin or a Super Moderator.
Do not write rude. Be a little professional at your behavior and communicate professionally.
Now, the fool is trying to change the subject by asking ppl to join the rally. Why in the world wud ppl trust him? The thread is barely 10 pages and after realizing that therez no point in discussing about what this thread is all about, he has shifted subject loyalites. How lame and insane is this guy? Pappu, LogicLife where r u guyz? Why dont u ban him?

I see that a lot of us feel really stuck because of the long GC process and yet we continue to wait. Eventually we all want to have:
1. Freedom to switch jobs
2. Freedom to start businesses
3. Freedom to travel
4. Freedom to have spouse working
I hope and pray that it comes thru sooner than later for all of us. Let's say you get your GC in 1-2-x years. How many years after that would you go back? 2-3 or wait till you get US citizenship? Would you give up the GC after having spent 5+ years waiting and maybe a total of 8-10+ years in US?
For those of us who are thinking that I want to go back eventually, what steps do you plan to take once you get your GC? The reason I raise this question is, it was easy to adapt to a new place when you were young. 6-10 years later (and a couple of kids later :-) what are some of the things you intend to do make your transition homewards easier? Has anyone considered taking on positions with significant travel to India(or your home country) so that you can get accustomed to the lifestyle/work environment/business back home?
For me: Wait another 5-7 years, in the meantime yes, considering taking on positions with significant travel to India (where I am from). Investing and paying for building a home/apartment.
