Background:
We received AOS interview letters for attending an interview at the local USCIS office next month.
Today, I received an email saying that "Notice Returned as Undeliverable" only for my spouse. We have not changed the mailing address and we are not expecting any docs from USCIS.
Question:
1. Who screwed up? Is it USPS or USCIS?
2. What notice could this be?
3. How would I resolve this (From a quick search, it appears that simply giving customer service a call will not help)

USCIS is reporting that as of November 6th, 54,900 H-1Bs had been issued against the 65,000 annual quota. While this represents a dramatic drop in H-1B applications over previous years. In 2007, nearly 200,000 applications were filed in the first week applications were open and in 2009, the application period is now in its seventh month. Usage seems to be about 1,000 cases a week so we're probably looking at January or February to run out of numbers. Got a denial notice for my wife's AOS application (I-485) though dates are no where current for us ...
Got an RFE for both of us last month for immunization records etc which was replied on time ... The civil surgeon administered few shots and exempted her on few as she is nursing our newborn ... Now this week our lawyer received a notice of denial (not NOID) of her AOS application on the basis of the medical ... not sure what screwing USCIS is doing but I am pretty sure on one thing - they are running low on budget and need the MTR fees etc to collect additional fees ...
Does anyone else have same or similar kind of experience recently .... appreciate if you can share your experience ...

I too got the lud for the same date as yours. From the earlier posting, I read that it could be a batch process, which might gave updated the record.

For several years, USCIS has been moving more and more to a secretive style of carrying out its role. Gone are the days when rules were published for comment. Examiners operate in anonymity. A two year appeals process and expensive fees mean that most people simply give up when their cases are denied. I entered US on H4. Then applied for H1 for software job. worked for 2 months last yr and then went for maternity leave.
Now I started working again and I still have to go for stamping.
I have completed CPA and I would like to move to an accounting firm ( they have to file my H1 transfer with accounting domain).
Is this going to cause any problem during H1 transfer or stamping??
Please advise me...

Interesting question. SOmeone recently asked me the same thing. She came to US on H4 and is having a h1b being done by a body shopper as a QA tester in IT, but she is actually a pharmacist and would like to get a H1b transfer if she finds a good pharmacy job.
I am not sure how h1 transfers work in case it is different profession.
I guess they should work fine because people can have multiple skills, some people gain skills over time like say, people do MS or MBA while on h1b, and then apply for a different kind of job and get a transfer.
Gurus must be able to answer this question.

Hi, me and my wife we both r on H1b. My wife works with a solution & service LLC.say company A, now the owner is ready to start a new company, say B,with my wife as partner. She will be just passive investor in the company and getting profits, if any from company B. Can she still work full time with company A?. How can we invest in company B and take profits. is there any problem is getting profits more then 500K in a year.
What r IRS forms?. Finally any good attorney suggestions for Houston, TX.
What are the options for business formation,

my husband's h1 ext is approved.
my h1 to h4 cos is still pending. If we go to canda for his h1 stamping and my h4 stamping with my h4 filing papers ( i-539) and receipt notice and come back to usa with successfull stampings, how will uscis know that i travelled to a consulate and got h4 stamping done.
Will they still continue to process my h4.
Do i have to inform uscis after I come back to usa of my successful stamping.
what should I expect on my pending case once i come back.

My wife currently is on an H1-B visa and she also has EAD/AP based on my I-485 filing. Due to personal reasons she plans to quit her job soon (next 2-3 weeks or so). What will be her status? Should we be filing COS to H-4? Can we get a RFE for proof of her employment when I-485 is processed?
