I think you are unnecessarily suspecting her posting. Retrogression kicked in Oct 2005 bulletin. So it is possible for her to apply in Feb 2005. I know for sure some people got their GC with similar priority dates. I think this whole immigration crap is turning everyone into cynical.

Glad to see there are people like me on this thread. I came to the US in FEB 1995 as an undergrad. I have an MS today and dropped out of the PHD program (2000) to find a job because of recessions. Survived 3 top-notch companies, recessions, despicable back-stabbing coworkers, unethical and unworkable environment, lay-offs, legal dept messing up my H1b application making me go on unpaid leave (~3wks) without health insurance, filing me under EB3 while applying EB2 for another coworker from a diff country with the same job title, etc etc....my rear end is pretty soar these days and I am beginning to question all this....

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to let you know that my EB3 I-140 got approved today. I am a July 2007 concurrent filer. This wait has been frustrating and I've had to let many good opportunities pass by. I had, in the last 2 months, opened 2 service requests. I am not sure if they did the jobor may be the time has come when we will see July approvals coming in hordes.

1) Pardon me for being a fence sitter till now.......I did take part in flower campaign etc..but I don't know what happened to me after that...I just stoped caring about this whole GC thing, even though I have filed 485 etc...I know it's gonna take a long long time to get it....but enough of depressing thoughts...nothing can be achieved being depressed...so here I go...

Pappu, then why no to plan for another letter campaign, if that is what making things work a little bit.
It will work only if we can have 10s of thousands of letters.
If admin fixes had so many letters we would have been in a better spot today. With only 5 thousand or something letters and many of them anonymous, we cannot have our hopes very high.

USCIS has edited the reciept update of NEBRASKA EMPLOYMENT BASED I-485 TO 7/1/07.please go thru this link.This means it is still looking after the june end applications for reciepts.

For committed people like you, we can request IV core for some special consideration.
But I support this initiative. Just see the FOIA thread. We could not even pool up 5K and there are at least 5000 members out of which at least 500 active users.
Unless there is some intiative like this, it will be impossible for pushing any lobbying activities. There are many people who wants every thing free.

It is a letter by your I-485 attorney to USCIS mentioning your pending I-485 application (receipt numbers, filed where, including everyone part of the application), about your company securing I-140 approval under EB2 category for you and requesting to interfile this I-140 with pending I-485 and approval based on case is being current now (mentioning priority date). Copy of the I-140 approval notice (EB2) should be attached.
Some attorneys do attach I-485 receipt copies too. Also, your attorney may ask you to sign on the G-28 form that he/she is representing your case.

For all those people who are gun shy, let me assure you, it does not harm anybody. On the contrary it is helpful to all of us. Please consider pulling the trigger. The fund drive that is happening today is not the last drive; as long as we are active, their will always be fund drives. Maybe you are thinking of contributing after seeing the effects/results of Sept 18th. In that case, I urge you to contribute now to get the maximum bang for your buck. Think about the Macy�s firework in New York. It will be rather boring to see them light one fire work each night during the month of July, just because funds did not arrive in time or were slow to arrive. Sept 18th is our 4th of July. Unconfirmed sources indicate that two days before the end of FY 2007, there may be a substantial number of 485 applications for which visa numbers are available but have yet to be adjudicated, indicating that some visa numbers could be wasted this year. We know that the Service Centers have been working day and night and did not have enough resources to deal with the crisis which was brought about by the recent Visa Bulletin fiasco. We just hope for the better new fiscal year that will start from October 1, 2007.
This is horrible. We need to know how many numbers have been wasted due to notorious inefficiency of USCIS. This also raises an important question why DOS does not allocate the entire 140,000 on Oct 1st when there is tremendous backlog in the system. Also, it is ridiculous that USCIS does not release the Number of backlogged applicants in its system.!!

So July visa bulletin is out ... we will see comments with frustation and appeals to fight for the cause ... however, this is a prediction thread, so my prediction is that by next week, all affected people will accept the reality and will move on with their life waiting for August visa bulletin or for the next year quota. My purpose is not to offend anyone, but this is just the observation we all had in the past, so why this time around its going to be any different?
Now as far as those three bills are concerned ... at times I feel that they are just pacifiers to amuse the crying babies. We all can see that immigration related bill (fashion models, regional investors etc) are getting passed, but not the one's that we really want. Therefore hearings in the sub-committie and than in full hearings will go on till August, and afterwards presidential election will be the focus ... immigration reforms will take a back seat. New administration in 2009 will have more immediate priorities to fix the economy, war, etc. Immigration will eventually appear on the radar, but only after some time.
So only movement I can see in near future is EB3 to EB2 conversion. That's OK too. because everyone has a right to straddle the lanes. Out of that stampede, some will get approved, some will get rejected, and will create more mess in the system. But that's inevitable ... and if a mass transition happens, USCIS will have no other option to bring in yet another rule to make their life easy, we all can guess ... what that may be ... I think this is one of the reasons why USCIS does not allow 140 premium processing anymore. Now those who are hopefull for EB2, my message is that USCIS can very easily justify visa wastage this year because of the extra load they got from Citizenship applications. Personally, I do not have much hope of USCIS working efficiently.
I am not trying to spread pessimism, but just giving my predictions. We all need to think hard, as to how can we come out of this mess. Flower campaign worked once, but doesn't mean that its gonna be effective again and again.
Fashion models and Sport personnel and EB-5 folks are few in numbers and will go unnoticed by their constituents. Other EB categories are comparatively huge. So I suppose that congress is treading carefully. If the bills does not go though the subcommittee and full ones, opponents will debate that the bill was sneaked in or piggy backed or pushed through. PBEC center has not performed well enough until now...This year some form of immigration reform would be passed..When that passes, there would be a lot of work in terms of immigration processing/legalization..If the PBEC/Exceed does not shape up and complete by September...We would urge the congress not to give Exceed corporation any further federal contracts..
Only thing is my application is stuck in there and I donot want to put my name there because every dog/bitch has nuisance value...
