It is easy and potentially justifiable to feel some frustration. As it relates to the green card, I am in a similar situation to most who visit and share their views on this board.
I view the Universe and everything that is contained therein to be perfect - there can be no imperfections. I find comfort in that thought and focus my attention on the following:
feeling grateful for all that I have; doing my work to the best of my ability; taking the risks I believe I should take; being resilient; enjoying my life more; being patient; caring more; comparing less
This is merely a statement of my beliefs - this works for me. It is not intended to offend anyone nor is it a solution to anyone's woes.

Received an email from CRIS yesterday. They have issued a FRE on my I-485. I can not think of anything. My immigration history is clean, no status issues, ever. I remember submitting all the docs during July fiasco. I am waiting for the actual RFE letter to arrive.
Only good part is - there is someone "OUT THERE" who looked at my file.

Was your 485 transferred to TSC or NSC ? If so, did the Transfer notice have a different Receipt date ?
I am just trying to figure out when they may get to my case. My 485 Recipt date was 7/31/09 and then it was transferred to TSC and the transfer notice had a receipt date of 10/1/09. Not sure if they'd consider the Receipt date in the 485 Receipt or the 485 Transfer Notice.
The reason for my my anxiety is, I provided a change of Address (more than 200 miles) to USCIS and am wondering if I'd get a rfe.

Yes story is thesame. The US is unfair to high skilled immigrants. I lived in the US for 8 years. School, worked, volunteered, purchased a home, etc. When the down turn came, I was left high and dry. No unemployment benefits with all the taxes and social security that I have paid. To make matters worse, I was required to depart the same day. I had properties... been living here for 8 years!!
Even though I made this choice, it does not make it humane to have such a system. You ask, what does the US really gain by making people go through the stress, anxiety, sleepless nights? Nothing.

When ever you start working on EAD (filled I-9 form??)..then technically H1-B status will get invalidated...

Here are some facts:
My I-140 was approved in April 2007 and I-485 was filed in August 2007. My H-1B expired on October 14, 2010 and my employer filed (using an attorney) for an extension last month. I have original H-1B filing receipt and copy for I-485 with me. I also had EAD which was scheduled to expire on October 15, 2010 and I filed myself for renewal of EAD and AP.
I lost my driving license with my wallet yesterday.
I checked NJ DMV website and in their 6 point ID verification they accept EAD and valid I-94 (which comes with H-1B approval, but I don't have either on me right now). Does anyone know what is the process in NJ. Do they accept filing receipts as valid document?
Without license I can't drive and go to work.
Any recent experience? I would really appreciate an answer.

I drove back from canada today. and I though I should post my experiance at the buffalo border crossing.
Drove up to the IO gave him my AP and passport. he gave me a token number and asked me to go into the office. Very polite. parked my car went into the office.
waited for about 40 minutes then they finally called me. the lady was very polite soft spoken she had already gotten all my papers ready like new I-94 card. stamp on AP and passport. She asked for my old I-94 cards I handed here all my old ones (i had about 6, since i first came on student visa then switched employers) i mentioned to her that I lost one of my I-94 would a photo copy work and she said yes thats not a problem. after she took all my I-94 cards stamped my passport with ap exiration date same on i-94. I mentioned to her that I will going back and forth to canada very frequently and she jokingly said then I will be seeing you alot.
No other questions were asked. the whole process went very smoothly.
O a friend of mine told me if asked purpose of visit outside US don't say vacation on AP that pisses the IO's because AP is only for emergencies originally.

I just now talked to an IO and she said that last Friday the processing dates for NSC are all wrong and its a mistake. Those will be corrected soon in couple of days.
here we go again....looks like USCIS never learns by their mistakes.........anyways I feel Processing dates does not matter anyways for USCIS to process the applications..........
