Does anyone know/suggest how to handle this delay? How are Ombudsman conferences held? Are these adhoc or with a certain frequency? We need to bring this up somehow. Recent USCIS reports show varying numbers of cases processed. But no one will know about our delays of existing AP cases unless we bring this to attention through murthy/Oh firm/ombudsman...somehow?

I consider FOIA is a multifold success. Not only we achieved milestone 1 of $5K, we were successful enough to wake up members to do something after long time. Why do you think the very same members were sleeping? I don't believe IV Core was not doing anything in last few months but members always felt that there is no plan of action from IV. There is nothing worst could happen to us just by disclosing our plan of actions in controlled way like:
1. <<ABC>> is preparing document for final data information.
2. <<XYZ>> is evaluating other options how we could retrieve this information.
3. <<DEF>> is understanding how FOIA works and how long it will take us to get data and what will be the best option to get it earlier.
4. <<MMM>> is working on funding drive for this.
There is no reason to hide even this kind of information. But if we do this, members understand what we are doing at high level.

Also, information like how much IV is spending on lobbying on a monthly basis ? As this information is publicly available (in fact Sanju could find it by searching for under 10 mins and can be googled),why can't it be displayed on the website ?

Just an update from my side:
I have just talked local Congresswoman's Office and I have talked to a staff member for 1 hour and she is helping me. She is going to call NSC and get to the root cause of this problem.
Guys,
If you are reading this, do not lose hope. We have to try every avenue and knock every door that is open.

Good luck with the MTR, it is sickening to see such blatant errors on their part.

It is a very good idea. Countries which gives Permanent Residency based on the numbers of years stayed, I believe that is what they must be considering as priority date. U.S. immigration system was discovered by Einsteins & Newtons; There are 1000's fo laws & regulation. And look what's the outcome. A person could be waiting for 10 years and another person can get it right away if he/she can find a good old labor :) :) :) :D :D :o :o :mad: :mad:

I don't have a PERM case pending so no personal gain for me here. But it is unfortunate to see the trend here and it looks like another backlog center is being created (Got myself struck at BEC before and lost opportunities). Do we know whether IV is working with DOL on this ? Any progress ?

Way better than EB3-I/H1B in US....actually jumping out was the best thing I did before the GC train wrenk. This site keeps me aware of the latest changes in US immigration. After my wife's cad citizenship I might work in US even. Till then myself and wife...combined earn well

I tried to stop myself from posting on this thread since it's based on one guy's circumstances and though I feel sorry for him ( the same way I feel sorry for all the wives and their families being extorted huge sum of money in the name of marriage ) , it's hard to judge these things knowing only one side of the story.
To each his own , but do you think your parents spent their whole lives bringing you up only to know that you think it's "legally" not right to help them monetarily ???? I guess, they should have not spent that extra money to send you to a good school/college or spend it on your tution classes and kicked you out of their house once you reach the age of 18 , like some parents do here ??? Man, it's hard for me to imagine how one can think like that about their parents.
When someone gets married they should be grown up enough to handle the money matters and put their foot down in case of any unreasonable demands, it applies to both husband and wife. The intricacies of the "Indian arranged marriage" are difficult to understand and the equations vary from case to case, so it's better not to come to a judgement and come out with something utterly nonsensical.
I'm sorry if my post is a bit rude , what rude comments beget rude reactions !
To summarize the root causes now that we discussed:
1. Parental interference to control their own child even after marriage. This is cause no 1 of this kind of tensions.
2. Immaturity on the part of children, to let their parents control their feelings. (This is partly due to in arranged marriages, children are closer to parents than the spouse in initial years). This is no 2 issue. Children simply fail to understand they are no more part of their parents family. I honestly feel these people are not really ready for marriage or understand what marriage is.
3. Money transactions. One side expecting money from other side which is not really acceptable. I will elaborate this point a bit more.
4. In cases of couples settled in US/UK, parents know that couples are making a LOT more than by Indian standards. Hence to secure their own old age comfort, everyone tries to exert influence.
On no 3, let us separate our "legal" obligations from "moral".
Morally it is right to send money to parents, but legally it is not. As you can strive but, you wont be fair to either set of parents. Hence I believe "money" should not be sent to parents. Your parents should have planned their own future, including humanitarian needs. Only if your other half agrees, then only you should send money. Otherwise, it is your and your spouse's money.
If your parents needed monetary support then that they should have made clear to other parents at the time of marriage. Not after marriage. If its a love marriage, then the boy/girl should have clearly told this requirement to the other half.

I believe this is amendment to reconcillation bill between the house and sentate bill.
Sorry, I'm still confused, but it is entirely possible its my misunderstanding of American Senate and House of Representatives proceedings. How does a Senator add an amendment to a House of Representative bill?
Are we talking about 240,000 greencards to recapture or 2,400,000?

I am sad to see people posting messages on �inevitable future of CIR�, �US political system is broken�. But they don�t consider it important to contact their senators and follow IV�s instructions on making phone calls.
